For the academic year 2022–2023, the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries, and Economics at UiT The Arctic University of Norway is glad to offer PhD fellowships in Arctic Zooplankton Diversity Related to Functional Traits.

The goal of the PhD thesis will be to analyse functional features for existing data on Arctic zooplankton populations acquired via the Nansen Legacy and ECO TIP projects in order to understand the dynamics of arctic zooplankton. creating a model to learn how copepod characteristics and the environment interact.

UiT, or the University of Tromsø The Arctic University of Norway is the most northerly university in the world and a state university in that country. The University of Tromsø and Tromsø University College amalgamated on January 1, 2009. In order to create Universitetet I Tromsø – Norges arktiske universitet on August 1st, 2013, the university amalgamated with Finnmark University College, adding campuses in Kirkenes, Hammerfest, and Alta.

UiT – The Arctic University of Norway joined forces with Narvik University College and Harstad University College on January 1. The UiT university presently has six campuses in northern Norway as of January 2016, with Tromso serving as the main campus.

Eligibility For UiT Fellowship

  • Eligible Countries: All nationalities.
  • Eligible Course or Subjects: PhD degree in Arctic Zooplankton Diversity Related to Functional Traits offered by the university.
  • Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
  • A bachelor’s degree of 180 ECTS, a master’s degree of 120 ECTS, or an integrated master’s degree of 300 ECTS.
  • A master’s thesis with a scope corresponding to at least 30 ECTS for a master’s degree of 120 ECTS.
  • A master’s thesis with a scope corresponding to at least 20 ECTS for an integrated master’s degree of 300 ECTS.
